T-STEM AT HARMONY
The Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Initiative (T-STEM) is a public-private initiative of academies, professional development centers and networks designed to improve the instruction and academic performance in science- and mathematics-related subjects at secondary schools.
Harmony Public Schools have been part of T-STEM since the beginning of the initiative. In fact, there are currently only 23 charter schools in T-STEM and 14 of them are Harmony Schools.

Under T-STEM, Harmony schools have received funding from public and private institutions such as the Texas Education Agency, Gates Foundation and Dell Foundation. It has been these donations that have helped us boost our STEM program.
Harmony Project-Based Learning (PBL) Connection
Harmony T-STEM schools utilize project-based learning as part of the math, science, computer and engineering curriculum.
Harmony Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Connection
Eight Harmony T-STEM schools use PLTW as part of the curriculum. The Gateway to Technology program is offered in our middle schools and Pathway to Engineering is available in our high schools.
Because of our connection with T-STEM, students are able to partake in these PLTW classes:
- Automation and Robotics
- Introduction to Engineering Design
- Principles Of Engineering
- Design and Modeling
A Leader in Robotics
Harmony schools lead the way in FLL Robotics and FIRST Robotics. Our robotics program works with a vision "To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes."
We are proud to say many Harmony students have competed in local, national and international competitions with their robotics projects.
