On October 21, 2010, Harmony School of Advancement was the home of first of the Legislative Luncheon Series organized by Harmony Public Schools. The event, part of the community outreach program to introduce newly-established campus buildings, featured Houston-area elected officials including the Honorable U.S. House Representative Sheila Jackson Lee and The Honorable U.S. House Representative Gene Green who addressed the audience and praised Harmony Public Schools' contribution to Texas and notably Houston community. The following offices were also represented at this legislative luncheon; the Office of U.S. House Representative Al Green, the Office of U.S. House Representative Ted Poe, the Office of U.S. House Representative Pete Olson, the Office of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, the Office of Senator Mario Gallegos, the Office of Senator Dan Patrick, the Office of Senator Rodney Ellis. Josie Duckett, Vice President of Texas Charter Schools Association, community members, parents, teachers and students also attended the luncheon.
Dr. Soner Tarim, the Superintendent of Harmony Schools, made the welcome speech. Later in the program, Dr. Tarim also made a presentation to the audience about Harmony Public Schools. During the program, two high school students, two alumni and a current teacher also addressed the audience mentioning their unique experiences with the Harmony Public Schools.
