Harmony Goes National MathCounts

Brian Xu, a Harmony 8th grader, became a member of Texas MathCounts team and will go to National Math Counts. The state team is made up based on the top 4 scorers in the entire state and the individual performances. Brian came as the 3rd top scorer in the state competition.

In addition, Harmony MathCounts team placed second in the state competition. Two members of the team, Brian Xu and and Paul Cruz placed in top 10 and took part in Countdown (fast-paced oral competition for top-scoring individuals; in this round, pairs of Mathletes compete against each other and the clock to solve math problems).

Governor Rick Perry honored the awards ceremony and presented the awards for the top 10 scorers.

Congratulations to Harmony MathCounts Team, their teachers and parents and best of luck to Brian in the National MathCounts.
