Three campuses from Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas have been recognized by Character.org as 2026 State and National Schools of Character, an honor that highlights the district’s continued commitment to fostering both academic excellence and strong character development.

The following Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas campuses earned recognition this year:

Harmony School of Science-Austin, National School of Character
Harmony Science Academy-Cedar Park, State School of Character
Harmony Science Academy-Pflugerville, State and National School of Character

Character.org annually recognizes schools that demonstrate a sustained focus on developing ethical leadership, empathy, and responsibility in students. The designation is based on the organization’s 11 Principles Framework for Schools, a research-based model designed to help schools build cultures where character is intentionally taught and practiced.

In addition to this year’s honorees, several Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas campuses continue to hold Schools of Character designations, reflecting sustained excellence in character education:

Schools named as National Schools of Character demonstrate a deep and sustained commitment to these principles and often serve as models for others, while State Schools of Character show strong implementation and continued progress.

This recognition reinforces Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas’ mission to prepare students for success in college, career, and life by integrating character education into every aspect of the learning experience.

Across Harmony Public Schools statewide, the impact of this work continues to grow. Harmony Public Schools has earned a total of 45 National Schools of Character designations and 57 State Schools of Character honors, along with two State District of Character recognitions. Collectively, Harmony Public Schools has built the most award-winning character education program in the nation.
