Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas Celebrates Young Authors Competition Winners
Tracie Seed

Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas proudly announces the winners of the inaugural Young Authors Competition, a districtwide celebration of student voice, creativity and storytelling.

Students in grades 3 through 12 were invited to submit original short stories, poetry and memoirs. From imaginative fictional worlds to heartfelt reflections rooted in real life, this year’s submissions reflected the talent, depth and originality of Harmony students across Central Texas.

After careful review by a campus selection committee, top entries were recognized in three grade bands: grades 3 through 5, grades 6 through 8 and grades 9 through 12. Awards were presented in each category.

A Celebration of Student Voice

The Young Authors Competition was created to inspire a love of writing and provide students with a meaningful platform to share their stories. Participants were challenged to craft original pieces, develop strong titles, demonstrate proper grammar and structure, and submit work that reflected creativity and authenticity.

The result was a powerful collection of writing that showcased not only technical skill but also courage, imagination and heart.

First-, second-, and third-place winners advance to the district-level competition. Their work will also be featured in the Harmony CTX 2025-2026 Young Authors Magazine, and they will be honored during the districtwide Young Authors Awards Ceremony and Celebration.

Recognizing Excellence

Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas congratulates all student participants for their dedication and hard work. Writing requires vulnerability, persistence and creativity, and every student who submitted a piece demonstrated those qualities.

We also extend our appreciation to the teachers and families who encouraged students to share their voices and supported them throughout the process.

The Young Authors Competition marks an exciting new tradition for Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas. We look forward to continuing this celebration of literacy, imagination and student achievement in the years ahead.
