10 Harmony Public Schools Houston South & West District Campuses Earn National Recognition for STEM Excellence Through Project Lead The Way

10 Harmony Public Schools Houston South & West District campuses and both Districts are celebrating a major achievement in STEM education after being nationally recognized by Project Lead The Way (PLTW), one of the nation’s leading organizations focused on science, technology, engineering and math learning.

PLTW honored Harmony campuses and districts with its Distinguished Program Recognition, an award that recognizes schools providing strong student access, participation and achievement in PLTW programs. According to PLTW, the recognition celebrates schools and districts “committed to unlocking student potential through PLTW programs.”

This recognition reflects Harmony’s ongoing commitment to preparing students for college, careers and future success through innovative, hands-on STEM learning experiences.

Building Real-World Skills Through STEM

Project Lead The Way develops project-based curriculum for elementary, middle and high school students across the country. PLTW programs give students opportunities to explore fields such as:

  • Engineering
  • Biomedical science
  • Computer science
  • Problem-solving and design thinking
  • Collaboration and innovation

Through these programs, students gain practical experience while developing critical thinking and teamwork skills that prepare them for high-demand careers in STEM industries.

PLTW also partners with schools to provide teacher training, curriculum support and career-connected learning opportunities that help bring classroom lessons to life.
