From Future Doctor to Inspiring Teacher: Meet Harmony's 2025-26 Secondary Teacher of the Year
Candice Keutzer

Every great teacher has a story, and for Rajani Dhadral, it began with a dream of becoming a doctor.

Today, Dhadral is shaping the next generation of scientists, researchers and innovators as a science teacher at Harmony School of Innovation – Katy. Her passion for helping students discover their potential has earned her the distinction of being named Harmony Public Schools' 2025-26 Secondary Teacher of the Year.

While studying medicine in college, Dhadral found herself tutoring classmates who needed help in their biomedical courses. Those moments of teaching changed the trajectory of her career.

She realized that by educating students, she could multiply her impact—helping countless future doctors, engineers, researchers and innovators achieve their own dreams.

"Receiving this recognition is a testament to my commitment to continue empowering students to become confident thinkers, problem-solvers and future leaders," Dhadral said. "I believe every student deserves the opportunity to discover their potential through meaningful, innovative learning experiences, and I will continue striving to provide my students with exactly that."

That commitment extends far beyond her science classroom.

Throughout her career, Dhadral has embraced leadership opportunities as an instructional leadership team model teacher, biology subject content lead, mentor teacher and micro-credential ambassador. She has also participated in the Harmony Aspiring Leaders Academy, the Advisory Cabinet, the Rice Applied Mathematics Program and Harmony's micro-credential program, continually seeking new ways to strengthen her instructional practice.

Students know her as more than a science teacher. She has sponsored organizations including the Red Cross Club, STEM Scholars, Doctors Without Borders and the Young Women's Leadership Collective while also coaching volleyball and basketball. Whether in the classroom, on the court or leading a student organization, Dhadral is committed to helping young people build confidence, leadership skills and a love of learning.

Each year, Harmony Public Schools recognizes outstanding educators whose dedication and innovation transform the lives of students across Texas. Dhadral embodies that commitment through her passion for science education, servant leadership and unwavering belief in every student's potential.

Congratulations to Rajani Dhadral on being named Harmony Public Schools' 2025-26 Secondary Teacher of the Year. Her story is a reminder that one teacher can inspire generations of future leaders.
