HPS staff gather to sign beams for HSA MoCity school.

On Thursday, Sept. 3, Harmony Public Schools celebrated a major milestone in our expansion into Fort Bend County with a traditional Beam Signing Ceremony for Harmony Science Academy-Missouri City – Elementary.

Local leaders, district administrators, and community partners gathered at the construction site on Highway 6 to write their signatures and words of encouragement on a massive structural steel beam. That beam will soon be permanently installed into the building's framework.

A Warm Welcome from Missouri City Leaders

We were honored to be joined by several distinguished guests who helped us commemorate this historic moment for Harmony and Missouri City:

  • Mayor Robin J. Elackatt

  • Former Mayor Allen Owen

  • Mayor Pro Tem Lynn Clouser

  • Members of the Missouri City Council

  • Representatives from the office of State Rep. Ron Reynolds

  • Harmony Advisory Committee members, business partners, and district leadership

"Opening our first Harmony Public School in Missouri City marks more than a new campus; it represents our commitment to expanding opportunity, inspiring curiosity, and building strong STEM pathways for every student we serve."

— Ramazan Coskuner, South-West District Superintendent

What’s Ahead for HSA-Missouri City?

The new elementary campus sits on a 28-acre site and represents Phase 1 of a larger, long-term master plan that will eventually include an adjacent middle and high school campus.

Set to open its doors for the 2027–28 school year, Harmony Science Academy-Missouri City – Elementary will welcome 650 students in grades PreK–5.

Designed around Harmony’s commitment to hands-on, project-based learning, the modern facility will feature:

  • A state-of-the-art makerspace for creative engineering and design

  • Specialized science labs built for young discoverers

  • Interactive playgrounds and outdoor learning areas

  • A rich curriculum combining STEM focus, character education, and college readiness
