Harmony School of Innovation-Katy Earns National Recognition With 2026 America’s Best Schools Award
Candice Keutzer

Harmony School of Innovation-Katy is receiving national recognition for its commitment to academic excellence and student success after being named a winner of the 2026 America’s Best Schools Award by the National Center for Urban School Transformation.

The prestigious award highlights schools across the country that are making a meaningful impact through strong academic performance, student engagement and college and career readiness.

Harmony School of Innovation-Katy stood out among campuses nationwide during the competitive selection process. The school was one of only 25 campuses named to the honor roll. From there, 17 schools advanced to finalist status, and ultimately, just 13 schools were selected as winners.

To qualify for consideration, schools must meet rigorous criteria, including high academic proficiency rates, strong outcomes for students with disabilities and English learners, low suspension rates and high attendance. Additional benchmarks for high schools and specialized programs include graduation rates and college credit attainment.

The National Center for Urban School Transformation, based at San Diego State University, works with school districts and educational partners nationwide to support school transformation efforts that prepare students for college, careers and civic life.

As part of the honor, Harmony School of Innovation-Katy has been invited to participate in the 2027 America’s Best Schools Symposium, scheduled for March 9-10, 2027, in San Diego. The event brings together educators and school leaders from across the nation to share best practices and celebrate student achievement.

This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of Harmony’s students, teachers, staff and families who continue to create a culture of excellence both inside and outside the classroom.
