Big news for our Harmony family! 🎉 Both Harmony Science Academy–Sugar Land and Harmony Science Academy–Katy (Elementary & Middle) have earned the honor of being named 2025 Lone Star Ribbon Schools.

If “Blue Ribbon Schools” sounds familiar, you’re right. For years, the program was led by the U.S. Department of Education. But this year, Texas launched its own Lone Star Ribbon initiative to celebrate excellence on home turf. Gov. Greg Abbott explained that moving the program under state leadership ensures it better reflects the priorities and values of Texas communities.

For HSA Katy Elementary, the award is the result of years of dedication.
“At HSA Katy Elementary, we are so proud to be named one of the top 28 schools in Texas as a 2025 Lone Star Ribbon School,” said Principal Dr. Malik. “This recognition is the result of a five-year journey built on the great efforts of our students, teachers, staff members and the leadership of our principal and assistant principals.”

Dr. Malik added that the award isn’t just a milestone for the campus — it’s a historic moment:
“HSA Katy Elementary made history in Texas and across the nation by reaching the pinnacle of educational excellence, teaching our scholars to achieve their fullest potential at one of the best schools to ever do it.”
