A Month of Leadership and Legacy: Honoring Women Across Harmony North Texas
Brittany Lehning

Throughout March, Harmony Public Schools North Texas has recognized the voices, leadership and impact of women who help shape its campuses and community each day.

From classrooms to district leadership, the Women’s History Month series highlighted a group of educators and professionals whose work reflects a shared commitment to service, growth and opportunity. Each story offered a different perspective, but together they formed a consistent narrative rooted in purpose and student impact.

The women featured this month serve in a wide range of roles, including special education, campus leadership, instructional coaching, operations, communications and family engagement. Their responsibilities vary, but their focus remains the same: supporting students, strengthening schools and building pathways for success.

Across these profiles, several themes emerged.

A commitment to students stood at the center of each story. Whether advocating for students with disabilities, supporting multilingual learners or guiding campus instruction, each leader emphasized the importance of meeting students where they are and helping them move forward with confidence.

Many also pointed to the influence of family, particularly mothers and children, as a source of strength and motivation. These personal connections continue to shape how they lead, serve and connect with others in their roles.

Equally present was a strong belief in collaboration. Several leaders highlighted the impact of working alongside educators, families and colleagues, reinforcing the idea that meaningful progress in education is built through shared effort and trust.

For some, their journey included being the first in their family to attend college. For others, it was shaped by years of mentorship or the opportunity to grow within Harmony’s system. In each case, their experiences now inform how they support both students and staff.

While each individual story stood on its own, the collective impact tells a broader story about Harmony Public Schools North Texas. It is a system where leadership is defined not by title, but by action. Where service, resilience and purpose guide decision-making. And where students benefit from educators who are deeply invested in their success.

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, the recognition extends beyond a single month. The contributions of these women are visible year-round in classrooms, offices and communities across North Texas.

Their work continues to shape student outcomes, strengthen campus culture and inspire the next generation of leaders who are watching, learning and preparing to follow in their footsteps.
