When parents choose a school, they are making one of the most important decisions in their child's life.

Across Dallas-Fort Worth, thousands of families have many educational options to consider. This year, those families made their voices heard by naming Harmony Public Schools the Gold Winner for Favorite Charter School in the 2026 DFW Favorites contest hosted by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The recognition reflects more than a single achievement. It represents the confidence families place in Harmony's teachers, staff and campuses every day as they work to prepare students for success in college, careers and life.

In addition to earning Gold as DFW's Favorite Charter School, Harmony received Silver honors in three additional categories:

  • Favorite High School
  • Favorite Middle School
  • Favorite Preschool

The annual DFW Favorites contest recognizes organizations that have earned strong support from the communities they serve. Winners are determined through public voting, giving families and community members a direct voice in selecting their favorites across a variety of industries and services.

For Harmony Public Schools–North Texas, the recognition reflects years of partnership between campuses and the communities they serve.

"This award means a great deal because it comes directly from the families and community members we serve," said Harun Karan, area superintendent for Harmony Public Schools–North Texas. "North Texas families have choices, and their continued trust motivates us to earn that confidence every day. This recognition belongs to our teachers, staff and students, whose hard work makes Harmony a place where children can prepare for college, careers and life."

Serving students from preschool through high school, Harmony Public Schools is known for combining rigorous academics with hands-on learning experiences that help students develop critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving skills. Through its focus on STEM education, project-based learning and college and career readiness, Harmony works to ensure every student has access to opportunities that can shape their future.

The DFW Favorites honors also highlight the role families play in student success. Strong communication, shared expectations and active community engagement remain central to the Harmony experience across North Texas campuses.

As the district continues to grow and serve communities throughout the region, leaders say the recognition serves as both a celebration and a reminder of the responsibility that comes with families' trust.

Every vote cast in the DFW Favorites contest represented a family's belief in the education their children receive. For Harmony educators and staff members, that confidence remains the foundation of the work they do each day.
