Harmony Public Schools is proud to announce that seven of its South Texas District campuses have been officially designated as 2024–2025 “No Place for Hate” campuses by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), based in Washington, D.C.

The recognized campuses include:

  • Harmony Science Academy-San Antonio

  • Harmony School of Science-San Antonio

  • Harmony School of Excellence-Laredo

  • Harmony Science Academy-Laredo

  • Harmony School of Innovation-Laredo

  • Harmony School of Innovation-Brownsville

  • Harmony Science Academy-Brownsville

These campuses earned the prestigious designation by demonstrating a yearlong commitment to building a more inclusive and respectful learning environment. During the 2024–2025 school year, each campus worked diligently to influence school climate and culture against discrimination and bullying. This included forming diverse student committees, encouraging widespread student participation in pledges, and organizing student-led activities that supported the program’s core values of respect, equity, and anti-bias education.

“We are incredibly proud of the hard work our students, staff, and families have put into building inclusive school communities where every student feels respected and valued,” said Selcuk Bakir, District Superintendent for Harmony Public Schools South Texas.. “This recognition reflects our districtwide commitment to cultivating kindness, understanding, and equity.”

The “No Place for Hate” initiative, created by the ADL, provides a framework for schools to combat bias, bullying, and hatred. Participating campuses become part of a nationwide movement to create more equitable and inclusive educational environments.
