Harmony Public Schools is a Top 10 Finalist in the annual ASU+GSV Summit’s Education Innovation Showcase, taking place this April in San Diego.

The Education Innovation Showcase honors K-12 education system leaders advancing innovation in their community and fostering meaningful change at the systems level. The Showcase recognizes two categories of innovation—Idea (pre-implementation) and Impact (post-implementation)—to show the full breadth and depth of what’s possible and what’s working in K-12 innovation.

AI Education Innovation Finalist

Harmony will present on its "Human Core Initiative," a new approach to using artificial intelligence in the classroom that puts teachers — and student thinking — first.

Instead of using AI as a shortcut to get answers faster, this model helps teachers design lessons that challenge students to think deeply, ask questions, and explain their reasoning. Technology supports the learning process, but it never replaces the teacher or the student’s own effort.

The results have been especially strong for students who need extra support. Recent STAAR Interim results show a 47% improvement for students in Special Education and a 27% improvement for Emergent Bilingual students in math and reading.

After successful pilot programs, Harmony is now expanding the initiative to 70 campuses across Texas, reinforcing its commitment to keeping learning human-centered while using technology responsibly.

Harmony and the other Top 10 Finalists are invited to pitch live at the 2026 ASU+GSV Summit in San Diego for a shot at each category’s grand prize, which includes over $70,000 in transformational access, services, and more from the Showcase’s “Powered By” partners: ASU+GSV Summit, Cambiar Catalyst, Digital Promise, Educating All Learners Alliance, LEAP Innovations, TIES, and Transcend.

Harmony Public Schools is a Texas-born, Texas-wide public charter school system with more than 60 campuses serving PreK-Grade 12 students in 23 cities across the state, including Greater Houston, DFW, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, Waco, Lubbock, Midland-Odessa, Bryan, Beaumont, and the Rio Grande Valley. Harmony’s curriculum places a heavy focus on STEM skills, Character Education, project-based learning, and college readiness.
