Heartbeat of Harmony: Harmony School of Innovation Caps for Kids
A group of children wearing colorful caps pose together in the foreground against a background of a black metal fence and a blue informational panel.

Instead of taking their caps off when they walked through the door on Sept. 4, students from Harmony School of Innovation-Austin put their caps on for cancer by hosting a fundraiser for Caps for Kids.

Caps for Kids is a national organization that gifts hats autographed by celebrities, athletes and musical artists to children undergoing cancer treatment. This extraordinary headwear provides emotional support, comfort and a boost of confidence to children who experience hair loss during chemotherapy.

Schools like HSI across the country hold Cap Days to raise money for the organization. For a $1 donation, students, teachers and administrators can wear their favorite cap throughout the day.

Thanks to their hard work during Cap Day and an enthusiastic online campaign, HSI students raised nearly $300 to support the cause.
